Libyan rebels control the city of Benghazi and newspapers that are independent of the government are published. A proverb says: “The pen [word] is mightier than the sword”*. Since the revolution in 2011, many new media have been created, first in the Benghazi region and later throughout the country. Libyans welcome the new freedom of the press and are happy finally to be able to express their opinions freely after 42 years.
